technology progect

On Thursdays we go to tech and this term I am in wood tech. For wood tech the term we made birds with wings that spin in the wind.To make the birds we got some wood and drew on a piece of thick wood then we cut it out with something that did the same thin as a jig saw but it was bigger and a bit different. Then we had to sand paper them until we could not sere the lines where we turned the cutting machine. After we did that we had to paint them in a white paint so that when we actually painted them they would have a smooth finish. The we got to pieces of skinny dahl (A kind of wood) and one fat piece of dahl. On the two skinny pieces we cat down vertically on both sides so that we could put a circle that we cut out of an ice cream container. then we drilled a hole in the middle of the bird and put in the fat piece of dahl and drill a small hole in the middle of the two skinny pieces of dahl.We then hammerd a nail through hole in the skinny dahl and connected it to the end of the fat dahl.Once that was done we hammerd in the ice cream container paddles with a small nail so that it did not go strait through and of course we painted it.I painted mine blue and you got to pick if you wanted to put a piece of wire in the bird so it could stick into something or get a hook on the top of the bird so you could hang it some where.
