A blind Chihuahua/ Chinese crested has won the competition for the world ugliest dog. It's name is Sweepee Rambo and is 17 years old. You not want to be known for owning the world ugliest dog but the owner won 2000 dollars in prize money and a trophy. Sweepee Rambo snatched the win from 16 other contestants. Heaps of the other contestants were rescued from shelters and puppy mills. The competition is judged by first impression, natural ugliness, unusual attributes, personality and how many cheers they get when they walk down the cat walk. Surprisingly this is the 28th year that the Worlds ugliest dog competition has been running and the competition is based in California.

Image result for new police dog vests NZ
It's always sad when a police dog dies. But now we won't have to worry as much because the police have announced that they had made stab resistant vest's. They decided to call the new harnesses mako's, and they have two special pads where their vital organs are to protect them from being stabbed or slashed. The harnesses were trialled on eight dogs in Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington. The vest's will be manufactured by a Hamilton based specialist. I got this information from Kiwi kids news.

A four year old leopard named Zeya from Salt lake city Utah zoo has escaped. While the visitors ran for cover inside buildings like the gift shop and cafe, the leapard was eventually found. It was sleeping on a high outdoor ledge, it was tranquillised and returned to it's enclosure. The staff members still are puzzled with how it escaped.
